APPLYING FOR HOUSING

Our policy is to alleviate homelessness and housing stress by the provision of good quality social housing to the local community, particularly the Vietnamese community, in greatest housing need.

Applications will be received from :

• direct applicants ( single homeless persons in need of support only )

• nominations from Local Authorities under terms negotiated through local Nominations Rights Agreements and choice based lettings schemes

• internal transfer applicants

Referrals will be considered, and assessed according to our housing needs criteria, from:

• Housing Associations where reciprocal referrals can be agreed.

• Vietnamese/Chinese community groups

Priority factors for the provision of housing are :

• refugee status;

• homelessness;

• overcrowding;

• racial or sexual harassment/domestic violence;

• health factors;

• social factors.
