BACKGROUND INFO & MISSION STATEMENT
Lien Viet was the first Vietnamese housing association to be formed and registered
with the Housing Corporation in the UK. That was back in 1988 and the creation of
this website marks fifteen years of existence in an ever changing social housing climate.
Our mission statement has remained virtually the same in all
that time:
Lien Viet Housing Association aims to provide good quality,
social housing with a service that is culturally sensitive and is designed to meet
the needs of the people from Vietnam, SE Asia and the wider community.
The mission statement is what we are here for, our purpose and
reason for existing. From this we have developed a set of core values:

We conduct our business with openness, honesty and integrity.

We primarily serve communities who have priority housing needs
which are largely unmet by mainstream providers.

We provide a housing service which is culturally sensitive and
addresses the special needs of our community.

We support social inclusion and the empowerment of our communities
through facilitating access to information.

We recognize the importance of affordability and therefore the
need to make our rents as reasonable as possible within our financial and economic
constraints.

We aim to influence policies that affect the access and provision
of housing services locally and nationally.
